KINGSTON — Craig Barry will take the helm at Kingston Middle School next year as the next principal.
The current assistant principal and athletic director at North Kitsap High School will head over to Kingston to replace Susan Wistrand, who announced she would resign at the end of this school year.
“I am looking forward to working with staff and the Kingston community to provide KMS students with a high quality school that is safe, welcoming and focused on student achievement,” Barry is quoted in a press release.
Before coming to North Kitsap, Barry served as Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Fairview Junior High School in Central Kitsap School District (2006-2010), Athletic Director (2002-2006) and K-12 Physical Education Department Chairperson (2001-2003) at the American School Foundation in Mexico City. He also taught K-12 physical education for eight years.
Barry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Miami, a Master’s Degree of Science in Physical Education from Florida International University, an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Alabama, and a Principal Certification from Western Washington University.
