POULSBO — Former Councilman Jim Henry will likely face current Councilwoman Kim Crowder in the Nov. 3 general election.

In what turned into a fairly tight election, the third ballot count Thursday showed the two outpacing challenger Tom Foley.

With about 150 ballots left to count county-wide, Henry leads the pack of candidates with 543 votes, or 34.41 percent.

Henry was ousted from his seat by current City Councilwoman Becky Erickson two years ago.

Crowder, the incumbent, has 525 votes, or 33.27 percent.

Foley has 471 votes, or 29.85 percent.

The bulk of ballots have been counted, said county Elections Manager Dolores Gilmore.

“It will be just small batches after this,” Gilmore said.

Crowder said she felt comfortable with her place in the contest, but said it demonstrated she had work to do.

“It shows me I really need to get out there more and let people know what I’ve done,” she said.

Henry said he was surprised to lead the pack.

“You’re dealing with an incumbent,” he said.

Thursday’s total accounts for 1,578 votes counted out of 5,114 ballots issued. The election will be certified Sept. 3.
