NKHS Career Center specialist Paula Patterson said the drop-off and pick-up events, during which girls can bring old dresses and rent new ones, will take place at the Career Center on various pre-planned dates. She said the school’s Key Club, a student service organization, is willing to help the cause.

“It is a wonderful service to provide to students,” she said. “The response from the Key Clubbers was great and they felt that it was a endeavor worth assisting.”

Patterson said she and ASB advisor and teacher Doris Ahrens have been talking about creating something like Crushes Closet for years.

“When Kylie and Kelsea brought the idea to me, I was delighted to hear that there was a true need,” she said. “The best part of this is that students were willing to help other students. This is just one of the examples that show that North Kitsap High School students and staff have united with an extreme amount of school spirit this year.”

Droppert said she and Kimbel hope to pass the system down after they graduate, possibly through the NKHS cheer squad. They are still seeking donations of clothing racks and storage space. Suds Eez Cleaners and Laundromat will provide cleaning between events.
