CENTRAL KITSAP – Shoppers at the McWilliams Road-area Safeway grocery store will have an opportunity to donate to Cub Scout Pack 4539’s annual “Scouting for Food” campaign 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26.

“This is our way of being able to help the community,” said Keith Ciancio with the pack. “If everyone can donate one single item, I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be able to fill at least three shopping carts full.”

He said that hygene items were also welcome. The items will be donated to the North Kitsap Fishline (www.nkfishline.org.)

The grocery store is located at 1401 N.E. Mcwilliams Road.

Ciancio said the Boy Scouts Chief Seattle Council chose March for the food drive because that is when food banks tend to receive the lowest amount of donations, and thus are in the greatest need.
