Deputies to patrol Silverdale Waterfront Park Thursday

Over the past several years it has become something of an “unofficial tradition”

for young people to congregate at Silverdale Waterfront Park, following class

dismissal on the last day of school.

Several years ago a small number of those who went to the park engaged in

disruptive behavior to include fighting, igniting fireworks, playing music too loudly, littering, disturbing local businesses and operating motor vehicles unsafely.

It has been noted that this type of unruly behavior has not occurred recently.

The public is reminded that this is not a Central Kitsap School District (CKSD) -sponsored event; those who choose to gather at Silverdale Waterfront Park are

reminded to act responsibly.

On the last day of the CKSD academic school year, Thursday, June 18, Kitsap

County Sheriff’s patrol deputies will be present at the park as well as at other

local establishments and venues. They will enforce state law and county

ordinances regarding illegal activity or disruptive behavior.
