Diary entries and statements from a then 12-year-old girl, along with joint investigation between Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and the Guam Police Department, led to child molestation charges against a Port Orchard man.
Tomas T. San Nicholas, 69, was charged with second-degree child molestation on April 23 in Kitsap County District Court. Deputies arrested San Nicholas on April 22 in Port Orchard.
According to charging papers, the Guam Police Department contacted KCSO about a 12-year-old girl who was visiting her grandmother and her boyfriend, San Nicholas, in Port Orchard in July 2012. She came here with three other siblings, ages 7, 8 and 18.
Guam police interviewed the girl on Jan. 30 and March 27. Investigators took statements from the girl and provided copies to KCSO, along with inserts from the girl’s diary, stated documents.
In her diary, he girl described several alleged incidents when San Nicholas inappropriately touch her, court documents stated.
The girl told Guam police investigators the first incident happened when the man asked her to sit on his lap and touched her breast.
On July 4, the girl wrote in her diary that “Papa Tom is a pervert” and she said she was scared, court records stated.
Deputies went to the home where the alleged molestations took place and contacted the accused, who refused to talk to deputies because of his attorney’s advise, documents stated.
This was the second child molestation charges handed out this month in the courts.
Prosecutors charged Steven Donald Stone, 62, of Port Orchard, with three counts of first-degree child molestation in Kitsap County Superior Court on April 10.
According to court documents, Stone inappropriately touched three young girls, ages 7, 10 and 12, from September 2010 to February 2013 at a home on Long Lake Road.
