Charges involving forgery were filed against two South Kitsap women in separate incidents on July 22 in Kitsap County District Court.
A 40-year-old woman was charged with forgery.
Katherine Anne West, of Burley, was charged July 22 with forgery in connection with trying to cash a forged check at a Bremerton bank, charging papers stated.
Court records stated on May 24, the bank’s assistant manager advised deputies that West was inside the bank trying to cash a fraudulent check.
West gave the bank teller a $2,940 check written in her name from Florida International University. She stated that she was cashing the check for her boss who was in Nigeria.
She was taken to jail and released on her on recognizance.
Charges were originally filed on June 7.
Andrea Marie Bame, 28, was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forged prescription for Valium.
According to court records, Bame was arrested by Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies at the Port Orchard drug store after a pharmacist received a forged prescription dated July 13 issued by another drug store.
She was arrested and booked into the Kitsap County Jail on July 21.

Kenneth Richard Brock, 23, Port Orchard, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forged prescription.
