The Food Market at Kingston, along with the Subway next door, will be closing in October.
Don Stolz, Food Market owner, said they started the closing process last week with many sales available for groceries. He said there is no set date for final closure. The market is part of a wider chain in Washington with other locations in Lakebay and Gig Harbor.
“It’s been a long couple of years and COVID had different impacts on different businesses in different locations,” Stolz said. “That location suffered more than others and hasn’t recovered as mandates have lifted.”
Property owner Rick Bjarnson said last week it is unknown at this time what would occupy the space.
