Driver in highway rollover crash dies from injuries

The Bremerton woman who sustained serious injuries Aug. 10 after crashing and rolling her car on Highway 3 just northeast of Gorst has died, the Washington State Patrol confirmed Aug. 16.

WSP says 36-year-old Porshe D. Scott had succumbed to her injuries while being treated at Harborview Medical Center.

An earlier WSP release said the victim was traveling southbound near mile marker 35 when her vehicle hit the center barrier. The vehicle crossed both southbound lanes to the right and hit an embankment before rolling and hitting a power pole. The vehicle was on its top when first responders arrived, and Scott had been ejected.

Scott had originally been transported to Tacoma General. Police say she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
