Alex Duchemin and Benjamin Jacobson are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Wendy Duchemin of Poulsbo. She is a graduate of Bainbridge Island High School and a 2006 graduate of Western Washington University. She is a first-grade teacher at Christ the King Academy.

The groom-to-be is the son of Rich and Janice Jacobson of Silverdale and is a graduate of Central Kitsap High School and Olympic College. He is the worship director for Newlife South in Port Orchard and an employee of Ethos Builders.

The couple met while serving on staff for Newlife Youth. Jacobson proposed on Dec. 30, 2007 on bended knee in the bride-elect’s parents’ home with 30 friends and family members witnessing the event.

The couple will wed this June and will travel on a cruise to the Mexican Riveria for their honeymoon.

They will make their first home in downtown Poulsbo and are thrilled to call Kitsap home.
