A 28-year-old Poulsbo woman was taken into custody this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after she crashed her minivan into a utility pole in South Kitsap.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on State Route 160, also known as Sedgwick Road, near Westway Drive SE, near Port Orchard.

As of 1 p.m., the roadway was still partially blocked to traffic as Puget Sound Energy crews were on scene to repair the pole and wires.

Estimates are that the repairs won’t be finished for another four to five hours.

A detour route has been established.

Washington State troopers arrested the suspect and transported her to Kitsap County Jail for booking.

The woman was not injured.
