EcoFest is “the most exciting way to celebrate Earth Day in Kitsap County,” according to Stillwaters Environmental Center administrative director Naomi Maasberg. “EcoFest is a community celebration, with a huge selection of over 40 exhibitors and displays to delight you, all kinds of enviro-education and eco-friendly products, from electric scooters to bamboo floors.”
The event has become noted, she said, for its “great music, food, and entertainment all day.”
This year the children’s area will be expanded to include nature crafts, games and “fun for all ages.” Stillwaters’ native plant nursery will be open for sales.
Among the presentations this year will be Mike Pratt from West Sound Wildlife Shelter who will bring one of their owls. The ever popular Fiddle Tunes by Hank Veenstra are also scheduled to play.
Maasberg suggests that attendees park at Gordon Elementary School or Bayside Church, which will also have a shuttle to EcoFest, the Farmers Market, the Kingston Garden Club Plant Sale, and other events in Kingston.
