KINGSTON — Betty Tarbill died March 7 in Kingston. She was 86.

Born to Von Valjean and Margaret (Fulton) Tarbill in Seattle on March 28, 1925. Married to James M. Grantham from 1943-1976 in Seattle and to Robert Bosanko from 1981-2003 in Kingston.

Graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle in 1943. Seattle Schools food services supervisor for 27 years, commuted by ferry from Kingston 17 years, retired in 1987.

Kingston Citizen of the Year for 1990. Served in various offices in the Garden Club, Chamber of Commerce, Community Center, Kingston Seniors, Chuckwagon, Historical Society, Red Hat Society, Widow and Widowers, and as a reading volunteer at Wolfle Elementary School. Active member of Redeemer United Methodist Church.

Enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sewing, flower arranging, gardening, various crafts, and her family, neighbors and friends.

Survived by her children, James R. Grantham of Seattle, Margaret A. Stasny of Silverdale, Charles (Rex) Grantham of Poulsbo and Barbara J. Emerson of Seattle; sister, Katie Fortune of Kingston; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her former husband, Jim; her husband, Bob; sister, Jane Jones; brother, Joe Tarbill; sister, Barbara Tarbill.

Memorial March 24, 11 a.m., at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 9900 NE Shorty Campbell Road, Kingston. Potluck follows at Betty’s home, 11996 NE Apple Tree Point Lane, Kingston.
