Emergency crews investigate report of plane crash in Hood Canal

Emergency crews have been dispatched to Hood Canal near Seabeck following reports that a small airplane crashed into the canal. Fire engines from Central Kitsap have responded to the scene and are expected to launch a boat from a private residence off of Old Holly Hill Road. A Coast Guard helicopter is also en route to the scene.

SEABECK — Emergency crews were dispatched to Hood Canal near Seabeck following reports that a small airplane crashed into the canal, shortly before 1 p.m. Jan. 26.

Fire engines from Central Kitsap have responded to the scene and are expected to launch a boat from a private residence off of Old Holly Hill Road. A Coast Guard helicopter is also en route to the scene.

Initial calls to 911 reported a small, stunt-style, red and white airplane twirling in the air as it dove down toward the water.
