POULSBO — Sound Publishing, Inc. proudly named former marketing manager Donna Etchey as the new publisher of the North Kitsap Herald earlier this week.

Etchey, who has lived in North Kitsap for the better part of 30 years, has been a member of the Herald team since 1996. She started that year as office manager and later became an advertising representative to the greater Poulsbo community.

It is the communities of Little Norway and North Kitsap that she credited for her long tenure.

“I love North Kitsap and the fact that the Herald has such a lengthy relationship with the residents here,” said Etchey, who currently serves on the Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “I’m looking forward to continuing and strengthening that relationship.”

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve North Kitsap in this new position and am looking forward to meeting many new people,” she added.

Sound Publishing president Manfred Tempelmayr said Etchey was definitely an excellent fit for the position.

“I am pleased to have Donna Etchey as our new publisher in Poulsbo,” Tempelmayr said. “Donna has developed important ties to the North Kitsap community and will be a strong leader for the North Kitsap Herald, Kingston Community News and What’s Up.”

“With almost 10 years service to the publishing field, Donna brings a wealth of experience to her new job. During that time, she has made a significant contribution to the region through her strong commitments to community-based organizations,” he added. “Donna is respected both inside and outside the workplace.”

Etchey is a 1982 graduate of North Kitsap High School and lives in Kingston with her husband Jeff Etchey and 13-year-old son Taylor. She is also the mother of Amy Morse of Seattle and Josh Morse of Poulsbo.
