Harrison Medical Center is hosting a free fall prevention health talk and balance screening on Monday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the Garden Room, at the Silverdale hospital, 1800 NW Myhre Road.

Slips, trips, and falls in and around the home are frequently the cause of injuries to older adults. Each year, millions of older adults are brought into emergency departments for injuries related to a fall.

Falls can lead to loss of independence and the inability to perform meaningful activities, including those activities that you enjoy. What you may not know is that most falls can be prevented.

This health talk will identify those factors which can contribute to a fall and how to reduce one’s fall risk.

The Garden Room is located on the ground floor of Harrison Silverdale, For more information, visit harrisonmedical.org/fall-prevention. Register today by calling 866-844-WELL. The session is expected to last until noon.
