Fire contained to garage; man taken to Harrison with minor burns

A North Kitsap man was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment of minor burns and smoke inhalation sustained in a garage fire Jan. 6.

POULSBO — A North Kitsap man was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment of minor burns and smoke inhalation sustained in a garage fire Jan. 6.

The fire is being investigated as a possible arson, Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson reported. The man taken to Harrison is 28 years old, is believed to reside on the property, and is a possible suspect in the fire, Wilson reported.

Firefighters from Poulsbo, North Kitsap and South Kitsap fire departments were dispatched at 4:37 p.m. to the 23000 block of Carmella Road NW, north of Bangor, and arrived in 10 minutes, Wilson reported.

The fire was contained to the garage and was reported extinguished at 5:10 p.m.

The county fire marshal and the Sheriff’s Department were investigating, Wilson said.
