Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue received a call in reference to a residential structure fire in the 7600 block of Shilohwood Place NW in Bremerton.
“Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke coming from the structure and learned that occupants from both sides had safely evacuated,” stated a CKF&R press release.
“The fire was in the wall that separates the two garages and extended into the attic area above the garage space,” stated the release.
Firefighters put out the flames and worked along the site to ensure hot spots were gone and that the fire was contained and had not extended into the main living area of the house.
The fire and smoke damage was limited to the garage portion of the duplexes. The County Fire Marshal was called to the scene to determine the cause.
