Five injured in collisions on Little Boston Road

LITTLE BOSTON — Five people were hospitalized following two collisions Saturday afternoon on Little Boston Road.

Two cars were reported to have driven over an embankment near Bud Purser Lane, shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to a statement from North Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

Witnesses reported one of the cars was on fire. A woman was unconscious inside the car and a toddler was walking around the vehicle. The driver had left the scene.

Bystanders had extinguished the fire when crews arrived and the woman had regained consciousness. The woman and her 3-year-old son were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. The driver later returned to the scene in the company of law enforcement, the statement said. He was transported to Harrison Medical Center.

A second car was also over the embankment nearby. The two 18-year-old women — one from Little Boston and one from Port Ludlow — told crews they had driven off the roadway to avoid a collision with the first car. They were transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and Port Gamble S’Klallam Police Department are investigating the incident.
