Frank L. Johnson died July 27, 2008. The Silverdale resident was 58.
He was born in San Francisco on April 25, 1950. He graduated from San Francisco State University.
Mr. Johnson was a wonderful provider for his family, working at Qwest for 30 years. He never complained about any job and loved his co-workers. He and his wife Karen were members of Peninsula Bible Fellowship where he was a care group leader and taught third- and fourth-grade Sunday School. He loved anything aquatic. Earlier in life he was involved in stunt clown diving, coaching college water polo and any water sport.
Mr. Johnson faithfully served as a camp counselor at Royal Family Kids Camp, a camp for abused Kitsap County foster children. He spearheaded the original skate park in Port Orchard, teaming up with local youth. He and his wife represented Harper Church, their former church, at the Family Kitchen held at First Lutheran Church of Port Orchard.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 33 years; sons Sean and Scott (fiancée Sarann Uy); brothers Richard, Ed, Bob and Bill; and sister Elizabeth.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 2 at Peninsula Bible Fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to Royal Family Kids Camp c/o Peninsula Bible Fellowship. Arrangements entrusted to The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
