KINGSTON — The Village Green Community Center will host July’s Kingston Community Meal on Friday.
A free community meal is offered at the center on the second Friday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meals are sponsored by Kingston Cares, a nonprofit that helps those in need of safe shelter and food security. The event is open to the public as well.
The July 13 taco dinner is being prepared and hosted by volunteers from Kingston Pickle Ball players and the North Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
While working to spread the word to folks who are having difficulty stretching their food budgets, all are welcome at the event, and organizers hope that the meals will be a community-wide gathering. Come join friends and neighbors at the community meal and encourage those who might enjoy a home-cooked, hot meal and the company of others in the community.
The meal is free, but a donation jar will be available to those who wish to give back.
The gym at Village Green will be available after dinner along with board games for folks who want to make the meal a part of their weekend entertainment.
