VOLUNTEER DRIVERS SOUGHT

Meals on Wheels needs volunteer drivers two hours on Mondays or Fridays to deliver meals to homebound seniors. Hours needed are between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

DIRECTORS ADDED

Following a year of successful promotions of local food in Kitsap including the Local Food Chef Showoff in September and the expansion of farmer and consumer Community Supported Agriculture relationships in February, the Kitsap Community and Agriculture Alliance recently boosted its board membership from four to 11 with the addition of effective food and agricultural entrepreneurs.

The new directors are chef Chris Plemmons, culinary instructor and food entrepreneur; Tawnya Hayes, customer relations director for Minder Meats; Jeff Waite, restaurant and marina manager; Jade Pope, farmer and agricultural services business owner; Scott and Peggy Hall, farmers and farmland preservation activists; and Jill Marie Warning, law school graduate.

The new board joins members Nikki Johanson, native Kitsap farmer and agricultural advocate; Marilyn Holt, Kitsap farmer and businesswoman; William Looney, farm management consultant; and Jim Freeman, current president and real estate broker.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop in Silverdale is in need of volunteers for Thursday and Friday afternoons or as substitutes. Training will be provided. For more information, call (360) 613-4139.
