NEW OFFICERS
Dennis Treger, a certified public accountant with Ball & Treger L.L.P., has been installed as president of the Bremerton Rotary Club for 2008-09.
Ruth Ross, dean of Library Media, Olympic College Haselwood Library, was selected as president-elect and she will serve as president for 2009-10. Other officers are Dave Anderson, retired military, treasurer; and Geoff Pentz, owner of Sound Dive Center, secretary.
BASIC TRAINING COMPLETED
Navy Seaman Recruit Buck Bokuku, son of Roskina and Tasio Bokuku of Bremerton, and Navy Seaman Recruit John Munyan Jr., son of Liniea Luttrell of Great Falls, Mont., and John Munyan Sr. of Bremerton, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Bokuku and Munyan Jr. completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis also was placed on physical fitness.
Bokuku and Munyan Jr. are 2008 and 2005 graduates of Bremerton High School, respectively.

CHENEY — The following Bremerton students graduated from Eastern Washington University in spring quarter 2008.
Jonathan Canonizado, sociology; Danielle Mateyka, biology and environmental science; Mark Staley, music: instrumental, choral, general; and Joseph Sutton, applied psychology.
HONOR ROLL
ELLENSBURG — The following Bremerton students were named to Central Washington University’s spring quarter 2008 honor roll. Students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or better, while taking at least 12 graded credits, to be eligible for honor roll.
