Voters have until Aug. 2 to turn or mail in their Primary Election ballots.
The Primary includes 65 candidates in 18 races for federal, statewide, state legislative and county races.
The top two vote-getters in each race advance to the General Election Nov. 8, no matter what their party.
Kitsap County’s 25 drop boxes will remain open until 8 p.m. Election Day. Voters can find the locations at kcowa.us/vote.
Vote Centers are open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on July 30 and Aug. 1. On Election Day, the vote centers are open 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
In Poulsbo, the Vote Center is at the Poulsbo Fire Station, 911 Liberty Road.
The Port Orchard Vote Center will be in the county Administration Building at 619 Division St.
In Bremerton, the Vote Center is in the Marvin Williams Recreation Center at 725 Park Ave.
The public is welcome to observe ballot processing in person in the Elections Office in Port Orchard or online at Kitsap.gov/elections.
As for the candidates, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray faces 17 challengers in the Primary, while U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer faces five. Eight candidates are running for Secretary of State, including incumbent Steve Hobbs.
For the state legislature, Tarra Simmons faces two candidates for Rep. 1, in the 23rd District.
For state senator in the 26th District, Emily Randall has two opponents, including Jesse L. Young, the incumbent representative in that district. In the 35th District, there are four hopefuls for state Rep. 2. In county races, there are five candidates running for commissioner District 3 to replace Ed Wolfe, who is retiring.
