The Greater Hansville Area Advisory Council has announced that Art Ellison was elected chair for the June 2009-June 2010 term to replace Judith Foritano. “Ellison’s experience as a community volunteer is rich and deep whether as current president of the Hansville Greenway or in his years of service to the Greater Hansville Community Center in various positions,” Foritano said. “He will bring his strong commitment to Greater Hansville as well as his outstanding experience in public and private enterprises to the operations of the advisory council.”
Ellison is still fully engaged in his private business, she said, but intends to redefine the role of chair, sharing those responsibilities with Gene Borgomainerio, currently the Driftwood Key representative to GHAAC. Borgomainerio was re-elected to the vice chair position during the May GHAAC meeting. He also brings extensive public and private experience to his position, she said.
Bonnie Isaacs was reelected as secretary and Linda Redling as operations manager. Gary Paulson and Nancy Garing continue in their roles as trustees.
“Thank you and a job well done goes to Becky Ellison whose term of trustee expired with this election,” Foritano said. “Becky has given much to this community through the community center, Futures, and GHAAC and we are pleased that she will remain as the Shoreview Terrace representative so that her voice will still be heard.”
GHAAC’s newest trustee is Evan Zachary, who represents the Buck Lake Neighborhood. “We are pleased that he chose to accept this role,” Foritano said. We hope the community will extend congratulations to all of these individuals who have done so much … on behalf of the Greater Hansville community in their GHAAC roles.”
