Golden nuggets of wisdom for CKHS students

Students were offered words of wisdom from community leaders and activists on being prepared for the future. The students took part in the discussions during the last week of school before summer break.

Central Kitsap High School eleventh-grade students spoke with community leaders on Monday about setting future goals and paving their way to success.

CKHS teachers JD Sweet and Elizabeth Blandin hosted the forum and invited four community guests to chat with students. David Grisanti, a senior pastor, Wayne Sweet, a plant manager, Erin Jones, AVID director for Tacoma Public Schools and Sam Rachal, a retired pastor, interacted with the students. Each guest rotated between groups of students to talk about future goals and life choices and also sat on a panel for a question-and-answer session.

Students and the leaders exchanged dialogue on topics like “What is more important, character or image?” and advice on not taking the easy way out as seniors.
