After a second day of mediation between Kitsap County and the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club last Thursday, the trial remains scheduled for August.

“There’s a possibility of a resolution — it’s not ruled out,” Neil Wachter, Kitsap County deputy prosecutor, said June 3.

Wachter said he did not know if there would be any formal mediation sessions scheduled before the trial.

In September, Kitsap County Prosecutor Russell Hague filed the lawsuit against the Seabeck gun club for alleged nuisances after neighbors of the range lodged noise and safety complaints. The first session of mediation between the two parties with mediator Bill Joyce from the Seattle firm, Salter Joyce Ziker, was in February.

A trial for the case remains scheduled for August 9 and Wachter anticipates it to last approximately two weeks.
