POULSBO — Tiny dinosaurs mingled with bears. Peter Pan and Captain Hook shook hands and Elvis was sighted — likely not for the last time — surrounded by aliens in Poulsbo as hordes of kids from all reaches of Kitsap County hit Front Street in search of sweet treats.
Halloween night brought over two thousand children and parents to Little Norway, and some of the best costumes this side of Transylvania. Superman took off work early from the “Daily Planet” and numerous Batmen left the crime of Gotham City up to Commissioner Gordon for a chance to engage in the family-oriented fun.
Scooby Doo ditched Fred, Thelma, Daphne and even his best friend Shaggy in order to gorge on the snacks provided by the downtown business owners. The Mystery Machine was nowhere to be seen.
More animals than the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus were loose on the streets as well, with everything from tigers and frogs to pigs and monkeys prowling, hopping and skipping from store front to store front.
But even though costumes varied, the children all shared one thing in common Wednesday — a good time.
