HANSVILLE — The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in trying to locate a man who has not been seen since Tuesday night.
“We’re suspending search operations for Brandon unless additional information or facts come to our attention,” sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said.
He said the department is not closing the case, but detectives have “exhausted search capabilities” on the ground and in the water thus far.
Brandon Lee Blanford, 36, was last seen leaving his parent’s residence in the 39000 block of Shoreview Drive NE, Hansville, around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. His family reported that he left the house to go for a walk, unaccompanied, in the general vicinity of NE Twin Spits Road / Hansville Road NE / Point No Point Road NE.
Blanford is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 11 inches, 226 pounds, medium build, with green eyes and short, light brown curly hair. He was wearing a cream-colored jacket with blue patches in the neck area, a long gray-colored sweater, black sweat pants, black Nike-brand athletic shoes and a gray-colored baseball cap.
Blanford has a history of despondency, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
There is no vehicle involved.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Unit coordinated a multi-faceted search, involving ground teams and waterborne units, from a command post in the 7500 block of NE Twin Spits Road, Hansville, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The ground search was done by Washington Explorer Search and Rescue, Kitsap Unit; All Breed Canine Search and Rescue; German Shepherd Search Dogs of Washington State. Daylight waterborne search was provided by North Kitsap Fire & Rescue and Suquamish Police Department.
