Head-on collision on Highway 305 injures three

Three people were hurt in a three-car crash on Highway 305 Wednesday night after a Subaru driven by a 78-year-old Bremerton woman crossed the center line and hit a Buick driven by a 56-year-old Bainbridge Island woman in Suquamish.

The collision occurred just after 7 p.m. near George Lane.

Both drivers were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for medical treatment.

A passenger in the Bainbridge woman’s car, a 78-year-old resident of the island, was also injured and taken to the hospital in Bremerton.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the Bremerton driver, identified as Maria L. Stevens, hit the Bainbridge woman’s 2014 Buick Encoure head-on with her 2007 Subaru Legacy as she was heading north on the highway and the Bainbridge women were going south.

Both vehicles were totaled.

A third driver was also involved in the crash but was not hurt.

The State Patrol said that driver, a 60-year-old Bainbridge woman, was in a 2007 Honda Fit behind the Buick. The woman’s Honda hit the Buick after that vehicle was struck by the Subaru.

The Honda was towed from the scene by Kitsap Towing.

The State Patrol said the Bremerton woman would be charged with crossing the center line.
