Jule Fest and Kingston Cove Christmas will be bringing holiday cheer to Kitsap’s north end on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Starting at 10 a.m., a Scandinavian bazaar will be held at the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo, where visitors can kick off their holiday shopping. Free carriage rides will be offered around downtown Poulsbo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and children can visit Father Christmas from noon to 3 p.m. The evening’s main event will be kicking off at 4:30 p.m. as vikings from the Sons of Norway escort the Lucia bride ashore to light the ceremonial yule log at the fire ring in downtown Poulsbo’s Muriel Iverson Williams Waterfront Park.
In Kingston, the festivities will be kicking off at 1 p.m. with the Kiwanis Santa’s Workshop at the Kingston Cove Yacht Club. At 3:30 p.m., bonfires will be lit at the Port of Kingston’s Mike Wallace Park where visitors will be treated to free cocoa and cookies as they enjoy the sounds of the Kingston High School band. Also opening at 3:30 p.m. will be the 21-and-over holiday spirits garden where adults may enjoy a warming, festive libation. At 5 p.m., Santa will arrive and commence the countdown to the lighting of the park and Christmas tree. The big man will also be available to take photos with the little ones as well.
