Police are investigating a suspicious death after human remains were discovered March 3 along Old Clifton Road.

Port Orchard Police Department officials report that Public Works employees found what they initially believed to be an animal carcass near the 1100 block of Old Clifton Road. Upon closer inspection, responding officers determined the remains were human.

The department’s General Investigations Unit has taken over the case, with assistance from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
