The Hyak, home to the Bremerton/Seattle ferry run, is being shifted to Kingston/Edmonds to help Kingston out of a three-hour jam.
The three-hour ferry wait began this morning when the Spokane was pulled off the Kingston/Edmonds route because of electrical issues, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The Hyak will complete the 4:20 p.m. sailing from Seattle to Bremerton. This will restore two-boat service from the Kingston terminal beginning with the 7:20 p.m. Edmonds departure.
The Washington State Patrol was handing out tally slips to vehicles in line on State Highway 104. If a driver without a tally slip attempted to get on the ferry, they were directed to the end of the line.
