Incest charge filed against convicted sex offender

A convicted felon has been charged with a sex crime involving a female relative.

Nicolas Eli Thurston, 22, of Port Orchard, was charged with second-degree incest in Kitsap County District Court March 12.

According to charging papers, the female relative told investigators that Thurston was having sexual relations with her. She said the last incident occurred in January and that the suspect also sent her text messages.

Court records stated Thurston was convicted of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes involving the same female.

If convicted, he could face five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

Thurston was arrested on March 11 and booked into the Kitsap County Jail. He remains in jail and bail was set at $75,000.

His next court date is scheduled for March 27.

The following charges were filed in Kitsap County District Court recently:

March 18: Matthew Thomas Hughes, 34, Port Orchard, second-degree assault; Nelly Mariam-Autumn Bail, 20, Port Orchard, second-degree possession of stolen property; Ross Orival Brown, 22, Port Orchard, possession of meth.

March 17: Nathan Leroy Schmith, 34, Port Orchard, fourth-degree assault;  Patrick James Henry, 39, South Colby, fourth-degree asssault.

March 13: Esther May Axelson, 58, transient, failure to register as a sex offender (felony); Page Marie Hanson, 22, Port Orchard, second-degree trafficking in stolen property; Angelic Jeannette McCade, 30, fourth-degree assault; Valerie Carole Prerost, 41, Port Orchard, possession of meth.

March 12: Brock James Banks, 48, transient, failure to register as a sex offender (felony).
