West Sound Women’s Show set for March 28, more than 80 exhibitors will be on hand.
Women of all ages will flock to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds next weekend for a show all their own.
The fourth annual West Sound Women’s Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 28 inside the President’s Hall.
Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton is hosting the event and Tricia Hanley said they’re expecting a great turnout this year.
“We had 630 people last year and we’re expecting 1,000 this year,” she said. “We have really stepped up our marketing and print advertising.”
A $6 entry donation is required to get into the West Sound Women’s Show, but the money goes toward a good cause.
“All of the proceeds go to help the women and girls of Kitsap County,” Hanley said. “Soroptimist is very committed to helping the women and girls of Kitsap County.”
Proceeds will benefit local nonprofit organizations that support women and girls. Past recipients include the Girl Scouts, the YWCA ALIVE (Alternatives to Living In a Violent Environment) Shelter, the Salvation Army Basic Needs Center and the Habitat for Humanity Women Build program.
“We’re shooting for $10,000 this year,” Hanley said.
She said more than 80 exhibitors will show off their goods and services at the West Sound Women’s Show.
Legend Harley-Davidson, Amy’s Decadent Chocolates, Anytime Fitness and Pampered Chef are just a few of the local businesses that will set up shop inside the President’s Hall next Saturday.
“We’ve just got a great variety,” Hanley said.
Victoria’s Photography at Photo Dynamics in Silverdale is offering a special deal at the West Sound Women’s Show. The first 500 people through the doors may have their headshots taken for free.
Hanley said she had her photo taken for business cards at Victoria’s Photography and loved it.
“Within three minutes she got the best headshot I’ve ever seen,” she said.
Workshops also will be hosted throughout the day at the West Sound Women’s Show. Topics include “What’s it Worth to You: Selling your Stuff on eBay,” “10 Steps to Financial Freedom,” “Managing Caregiver Stress” and “Ten Decorating Mistakes to Avoid.”
Soroptimist International of Greater Bremerton is already planning for next year’s West Sound Women’s Show. Hanley said the group already booked the Kitsap County Fairgrounds Pavilion and plans to put together an even larger event in 2010.
