A Jimmy John’s franchise is coming to Port Orchard later this fall.

Jim Fisk, city associate planner for Port Orchard, confirmed that the popular sandwich restaurant will locate at 1800 Mile Hill Dr., Suite 100, near 7-Eleven. The city issued a building permit on Sept. 9, Fisk said.Angie Swanson-Daniels of Bremerton and a partner are the new owners of the franchise. She said the partnership owns two other Jimmy John’s, one in Bremerton and the other in Gig Harbor.

“We thought Port Orchard was a growing area and a prime spot for a new location,” she said. “We have lots of customers and employees from our Bremerton shop who live in Port Orchard and have been asking us to open a location there.”

Swanson-Daniels said they were able to find “a great location” in a shopping cluster near 7-Eleven on Mile Hill Drive. The new business, now being constructed in an empty storefront end unit, is next door to the Pizza Hut franchise and a driving school.

The partnership hasn’t announced an opening date, which is dependent on the progress made to build out the location, but the co-owner said they hope to be open for business by mid-November.

“We look forward to providing great service to the Port Orchard area,” she added.Hiring interviews are to begin next week for delivery drivers, in-shop sandwich makers and supervisors, Swanson-Daniels said.
