POULSBO — It’s safe to say that the 2016 presidential debates will be among the most-watched programs in television history.
The Kitsap Regional Library will host an opportunity for residents to get together and share their views the evening after each debate, at the Poulsbo Library, 700 NE Lincoln Road. The post-debate conversations will be moderated by a member of the League of Women Voters of Kitsap at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, Oct. 5 and Oct. 20.

Nielson named state field director for Gary Johnson
PORT ORCHARD — Steven Nielson of Port Orchard is state field director for Gary Johnson for President.
Johnson, the former two-term governor of New Mexico, is the Libertarian Party nominee for president.
Nielson was appointed by Charlynn Patterson, regional field director.
Armstrong, Lester will meet in Eggs and Issues forum
BREMERTON — John Armstrong and Debra Lester, candidates for Kitsap Public Utility District commissioner, District 1, will meet at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 27 in the Eggs and Issues Candidate Forum sponsored by the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce. The forum will take place at Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill, 1240 Hollis St., Bremerton. No-host breakfast will be available.
The forum is open to the public. Recording without prior permission is prohibited.
Kitsap GOP hosts get-out-the-vote rally on Oct. 3
BREMERTON — At least 11 Republican candidates for local and state office are expected to participate in a rally 7-9 p.m. Oct. 3 at The Baymont Inn and Suites, 5640 Kitsap Way, Bremerton.

Hansville Candidates’ Night (and pie) Oct. 7
HANSVILLE — The Greater Hansville Community Center hosts its Candidates’ Night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 7, at 6778 Buck Lake Road.
Attendees will write their questions for the candidates on 3-by-5 cards as they enter. Candidates will make a statement and then the moderator will ask submitted questions.
And you can enjoy a slice or two of pie, made by members of the community.
