A 39-year-old South Kitsap resident called 911 at about 9:41 p.m. and said that Kitsap County Commissioner Josh Brown assaulted him during an election night party on Tuesday at the county’s Democratic campaign office.

The reporting party said that he tried to interview Brown for an “Outlaw Radio” broadcast, and Brown yelled at him, swore at him and poked him in the chest with his fingers.

The reporter said that he hadn’t been hurt, but he wanted the incident documented.

The Sheriff’s deputy who responded to the call asked Brown what had happened, and Brown didn’t deny any of the reporter’s accusations.

He said that the reporter had asked to interview him several times before that night, and he refused to speak with him.

When the reporter showed up to the party, Brown told him that he didn’t want to talk with him that night, either, and then he asked the reporter several times to leave.

Then Brown “raised his voice to try and get his point across,” and “again requested that the complainant leave the gathering,” according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. Then, Brown said, he used “profane language towards the complainant in telling him to leave the office spaces.”
