The Kingston Citizens’ Advisory Council invites participation in workgroups to review the Kingston Sub-Area Plan and create a list of prioritized, actionable items for Kitsap County to follow through on with support of the community. Monthly meetings of KCAC will feature presentations by the individual workgroups reviewing their findings. The dates workgroups will meet, as well as slated topics of discussion for each, are as follows:
On Feb. 13, 7-9 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center, a workgroup will discuss:
• Build a sense of community
• Enhance Kingston’s visual identity as a community
• Establish predictable/defined land-use patterns that support
Kingston’s community vision
“Kingston’s Community Vision,” the results of this workgroup, will be presented at the KCAC meeting March 5.
On March 11, 7-9 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center, a workgroup will discuss:
• Urban residential land use
• Commercial land use
• Industrial land use
• Natural systems
“Land Use in Kingston,” the results of this workgroup, will be presented at the KCAC meeting April 2.
On April 9, 7-9 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center, a workgroup will discuss:
• Improve and encourage economic development opportunities
and downtown revitalization
• Improve port facilities and waterfront
• Transportation
“Kingston’s Economic Development,” the results of this workshop, will be presented at the KCAC meeting May 7.
