A man and woman were arrested Oct. 2 as a result of a narcotics investigation that ended after serving a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Poplar Street in Port Orchard.
Arrested were Angel Patrice Mitchell, 33, and Kenneth Lee Rager, 35, who were booked into Kitsap County Jail for violations of the uniform controlled substances Act (VUCSA).
According to Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scott Wilson, spokesman, detectives with the KCSO Special Investigative Unit (SIU) and the Westsound Narcotics Enforcement Team (WestNET) conducted an investigation into the illegal distribution of crack cocaine.
Wilson said a search warrant was initiated at approximately 11 a.m.
Both occupants of the residence were contacted and taken into custody. Detectives searched the residence and located more than 14 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, drug packaging material and seized more than $3,000 in cash and one vehicle.
Mitchell was charged with delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Her bail was set at $100,000.
Rager was charged with delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) and outstanding Kitsap County District Court warrants of arrest for driving license offenses. His bail was set at $50,000.
Mitchell made an initial appearance in Kitsap County District Court at 3 p.m. Oct. 3 on a single charge of delivery of a controlled substance. She was remanded back into custody with bail set at $25,000.
Rager made an initial appearance in District Court Oct. 3 on a single charge of delivery of a controlled substance. He was remanded back into custody with bail set at $35,000. He also is being held on the outstanding warrants of arrest.
