A man last seen June 30 has been officially reported missing to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. He was last seen in the Tracyton area.

Tyler Alan Welling, 26, has a history of mental health issues and was reported missing on July 4, according to a KCSO press release. He was last seen in the East Bremerton on Monday, June 30. Welling is a 6 foot tall Caucasian, 135 pounds with a thin build. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

There has been no activity on his cell phone or financial accounts since that date. His information has also been entered into the FBI National Crime Information Center as a missing person.

June 30 was also the same day that KCSO Search and Rescue Unit started an underwater search effort late in the evening and the next morning. Reports came in from several witnesses about a person in distress in the water between Tracyton Beach Road NE and the Rocky Point Peninsula. The search was called off after being unsuccessful.

According to the sheriff’s office, there is “significant speculation that the person in the water was Tyler Welling.”

The release states, “The sheriff’s office agrees that it is highly coincidental, however at this time the identity of the person in distress in the water has not been confirmed.”

Welling may have been wearing a gray or dark-blue colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. He drives a silver 2003 Nissan Maxima, with a Washington license of AHJ5827.

Anyone with information about Welling or the location of his car is asked to contact Cencom at 360-308-5400 or 911.
