Keyport to host POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony on Sept. 20

Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport and the Naval Undersea Museum, Keyport, are partnering to commemorate POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, Sept. 20. The public is invited to attend and base access is not required.

Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport and the Naval Undersea Museum, Keyport, are partnering to commemorate POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, Sept. 20. The public is invited to attend and base access is not required.

The national theme for this year’s observance is “Keeping the Promise”.

Capt. David K. Kohnke, Commander, NUWC Keyport, will serve as master of ceremony at the event which will run from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. at the Naval Undersea Museum, Keyport.

The commemoration will be highlighted by Navy divers from NUWC Keyport’s dive locker silently passing the American Flag just prior to the National Anthem being played by Navy Band Northwest.
