Kingston Buccaneers take third at state | State 2A Basketball Tournament

YAKIMA — The Kingston boys basketball team hoisted a third place trophy in Yakima Saturday, edging the Burlington Edison Tigers 49-46 in the Division 2A State Basketball Tournament. Kingston shook off a tough loss to Squalicum the day before, which saw the Bucs four points short of the state title game. Saturday's win over the Tigers helped washed away the sting. "That felt a lot better," Kingston junior Sam Byers said. "That's the way to send our seniors out."

“That felt a lot better,” said Kingston junior Sam Byers, who had 17 rebounds. “That’s the way to send our seniors out.”

Zane Ravenholt led the Buccaneers in scoring, going 6-for-12 in field goals and 4-for-7 at the free-throw line. He also had 11 rebounds. K.T. Deam was 3-for-4 from the three-point line.
