Fare collection will begin Jan. 2 for Kitsap Transit’s fast ferry service between Kingston and Seattle as well as connecting buses.

Wednesday, Jan. 2 will be the first day of Kitsap Transit collecting fares following the group’s late-November promise to provide free service until 2019.

Fast ferry passengers will pay $2 for a one way trip to Seattle from Kingston and an additional $10 to return. Monthly fast ferry passes are available for $168 and $196 for a pass which includes bus fares.
