KINGSTON — It’s the one time each year when residents can get all their questions answered regarding anything from housing developments and the latest trails to how the Port of Kingston plans to grow. And it’s all in one place.

Many residents have come to welcome the Kingston Citizens Advisory Council’s annual Kingston Town Meeting with open arms as a place to get information about particular projects or community groups.

In fact, the event has become so popular, organizers Steve Heacock and Greg Platz are facing a bit of a dilemma this year. But neither is complaining.

“We’re getting kind of crowded,” Platz said. “The event has been so successful, as we move forward, when we add new presenters, we’ve been removing some tables that are no longer applicable.”

The event will be from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 23 at in the Kingston Junior High Commons. North Kitsap Commissioner Chris Endresen will make some brief comments at the beginning of the evening.

Of the 43 groups hosting booths and providing information, new faces will include the Kingston Art Co-op, the Kingston Stakeholders and the company that owns the Arborwood development, Olympic Property Group.

“It was requested that they be invited outside of (the Kitsap County Department of Community Development) to present their project,” Platz said.

Developers with White Horse are also expected to be available to discuss the golf course that is slated to open this year.

Regulars, such as the Kingston Farmers Market and the Port of Kingston, plus local open space groups, service organizations and public agencies, will provide information about the latest happenings within their respective organizations as well.

“The 2006 Kingston Town Meeting is filled with answers,” Platz said. “If you’ve got questions, curiosity or just like to know what’s going on in Kingston, this is the event to attend.”
