A Kingston resident aware of a suspicious vehicle parked in her neighborhood proved a worthy source after reporting it to Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies. The vehicle was found registered to a 42-year-old man wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for escape from community custody. The man had previously been charged with second degree burglary.

Deputies subsequently spotted the man’s white Chevrolet on Eglon Road and tailed it onto northbound Hansville Road about 5 p.m. Dec. 15. There, a deputy identified the man and placed him under arrest. In the suspect’s pocket was a small metal flashlight, and he was wearing an oversized black hat “that had a hole cut for an opening for the face,” the deputy’s report states.

The suspect told officers he was lost, and was trying to find his way to Bremerton or Belfair.

His car contained two pairs of binoculars, an elastic headband flashlight, a pry bar, additional flashlight, bolt cutters and screwdrivers, the report states.
