Driver spits on crowd at Planned Parenthood
A driver of a blue station wagon pulled into the incoming lane in front of the Planned Parenthood Building in Bremerton at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 2, where he spit on a group of protesters. The driver, a 30-year-old Bremerton resident, was contacted by police on Dec. 4. No charges were forwarded.
More vandalism in Silverdale
A rock was reportedly thrown through the window of the Lawyers Title Insurance Building in Silverdale on Dec. 2. The incident was reported at about 7 p.m. There are no suspects at this time.
Vehicle goes
up in flames
Firefighters from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue and the Bremerton Fire Department used 500 gallons of water to extinguish a flaming vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in East Bremerton. The vehicle was shooting flames 10 feet into the air near Perry Avenue and Sunset Lane when crews arrived, but the blaze was extinguished before it spread. A person who attempted to extinguish the flames was treated for minor injuries. The Kitsap County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the incident, determining the fire was arson.
Illahee home catches fire
The family of an Illahee home off of Ellen Ave. was displaced following a large fire Tuesday morning. The home’s residents were using the fireplace when the chimney suddenly went ablaze. The five people who lived in the house are receiving assistance through military support services. Theresa MacLennan, spokesperson for Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, said it is not known exactly what started the fire, but that the chimney hadn’t been inspected in a number of years.
