Kitsap County Public Works is currently working on a plan that would allow some customers to have access to some of its facilities.
Following Gov. Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” executive order last week, the county closed the waste facilities to self-haul customers. The closure was expected to last two weeks, in line with the governor’s order.
Beginning today, however, business which provide an essential service or have waste that is deemed a public health threat can ask for temporary weekday access to the Olympic View Transfer Station, the department announced in a press release.
And if Gov. Inslee extends the extends the executive order, KCPW will phase in more access to its facilities. Otherwise, if its lifted, operation will return to close to normal.
