Fake injury aids escape
A man who faked a hand injury with a soft cast that helped him escape from a moving police car was in Superior Court April 1.
A 23-year-old Poulsbo man faces four charges from a warrant for crimes Jan. 15, 2022.
The man was charged with second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to elude police and third-degree escape. He faces $51,000 in fines and 25 years, 90 days in jail. Bail was $150,000.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 15, 2022 at 8:07 a.m. to the 20900 block of Port Gamble Road NE. Witnesses confronted two men who fled with a truck bed full of items and no license plate in the back.
Other calls came in for other crimes thought to be the same culprits. Spike strips were placed in the Poulsbo area. All four tires were deflated. The driver was placed in custody and said he had taken “shrooms.” The suspect was told a witness had taken a photo of him. A witness showed up and identified him.
Another witness said the two suspects had said to him, “Excuse me have you seen white power,” followed by a Nazi-style salute. They then pointed a gun at the reporting party out the rear window as they drove off.
One suspect said he had information on high-level drug traffickers, but said that day he had been “pilfing,” taking property belonging to others.
The suspect who said he was on “shrooms” then was being taken by officers to get medical help as he was getting sick. The officer lowered the window so the suspect could vomit outside. But he reached outside, opened the door while the car was still in motion and ran off.
He had faked an injury with a soft cast on his hand, which aided his escape. The cast came off in the officer’s car. He ultimately was caught and was then handcuffed with both hands behind his back.
The suspect was then taken to St. Michael Medical Center for a blood draw for drugs.
Items stolen
Bail was set at $150,000 for a Poulsbo woman arrested on a warrant for a crime committed June 14, 2021.
She was in Superior Court March 26.
Court papers say the 21-year-old woman was charged with second-degree possession of stolen property. She faces five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
Bremerton police responded June 9, 2021 at 8:46 a.m. to the 2000 block of Magnuson Way for theft of a motor vehicle. The victim said the key was stuck in the ignition, and the car was not locked. Its passenger-side and driver-side door handles were missing. Various personal items were inside the car. About an hour later the victim reported her credit was being used. Officers saw a video of the suspect.
On June 12 at 7:52 p.m. police responded to the 4900 block of Kitsap Way as a shoplifter was in custody. It was the same suspect. Forgery and theft charges were added. There have been dozens of court filings since then, the latest March 6.
Child molestation
A 65-year-old Port Orchard man was in Kitsap County Superior Court March 28 charged with first-degree child molestation and domestic violence.
He faces life in prison and $50,000 in fines.

On Feb. 12, the office received word from an at-risk youth hearing that the girl wasn’t allowed at her mom’s dad’s residence because he did things to her. She said she was around 7. She also said her grandpa had touched her mom.
Another witness said the man would put toys in his front pants pockets and ask girls to go digging for them.
The suspect has a long history of similar crimes. In 1993 it was for indecent acts with a child under age 16; in 1994 it was for sexual assault for hiding money in his underwear and making a girl search for it; and in 2001 it was for lewd conduct for pulling his pants down in from of girls ages 9 and 12 in a store in Port Orchard.
Child molested
A 33-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court March 29 charged with first-degree child molestation.
He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
Court papers say sheriff’s deputies responded to W. Sherman Heights Road in Bremerton March 28. A 5-year-old boy said his stepfather sexually assaulted him. The suspect denied the accusations but said the boy had been watching scary things on TV.
The boy said his stepdad asks him to cough for him. The suspect said he did have a fetish about that because when he was young he was attracted to a girl who smoked.
The suspect was arrested after the deputy noted he was fidgety and tense during questioning, but when sensitive topics were brought up he was emotionless.
Fentanyl charge
A 60-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court March 25 with bail set at $52,500.
He was charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine. He faces 10 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines.
Court papers show Bremerton police responded to Warren Avenue Bridge around 4:56 p.m. March 23. A vehicle was driving about 80 mph in a 35 mph zone. It was swerving, passing, tailgating and going in an aggressive and erratic manner. When stopped, the officer saw a large amount of fentanyl pills and meth.
Immoral purposes
A 23-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court March 27 charged with two counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
He faces two years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bail was $50,000.
Court papers say the Kitsap sheriff’s office responded at 10:04 a.m. March 26 to the 1000 block of NE Sockeye Court in Bremerton.
The reporting party said July 26 of 2023 that she contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and said the man was soliciting sexual material from minors, as well as sending such material to minors. He targeted girls in the Bremerton area as young as 12 for the previous two years. Victims ages 14 and 17 told the reporting party that through Facebook Messenger.
Checks stolen
A 37-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court March 28 arrested on a warrant for second-degree burglary.
Bail was $50,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Court papers show Port Orchard police responded to the 500 block of Bethel Avenue at 10:02 p.m. July 30, 2023. At the business officers saw broken glass door and blinds, filing cabinets that had been rummaged through and items strewn all over the floor. Video footage shows a man exiting with a black bag. The next day a man tried to cash checks in the amount of $2,200.
Daughter arrested
A 37-year-old Port Orchard woman was in Superior Court March 27 charged with identity theft and second-degree domestic violence.
She faces five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bail was $50,000.
Court records show Kitsap sheriff’s office responded to the 15300 block of Suquamish Way NE March 8.
Earlier, the victim had reported her checking and savings accounts had been emptied of funds. It has since been found out that bank documents had been used at the Clearwater Casino. Video footage shows the suspect, who ended up being the daughter of the victim.
