Kitsap courts: Man faces life after stabbing

A 25-year-old Bremerton man faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine after being arrested for a stabbing at a local restaurant.

He was in Kitsap County Superior Court Dec. 19 arrested on a warrant from Nov. 15 for first-degree assault. Bail was $100,000.

Court documents show Kitsap deputies responded Sept. 8 at 3:36 a.m. as there was a stabbing victim in the emergency room at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. The victim was stabbed in the upper left chest and left hip in the 5700 block of Highway 303.

A deputy was told the two people who dropped off the victim were still at the hospital. They primarily spoke Spanish so the deputy used the language line. The brother in law said he was at a restaurant with the victim, who said “he was hit” but he did not know by who. The deputy then spoke to the victim, who said he was intoxicated as he had eight beers. He said he was dancing inside, but when he went outside three men were waiting for him.

Another deputy spoke to the business owner in following days. A video identified a suspect. He had attempted to enter the restaurant after the stabbing, and she refused to let him in.

Video shows a fight between a group of about eight Hispanic men in the parking lot. The suspect reached in his back pocket and stabbed a victim with a knife. A Facebook photo and a booking photo that show a tattoo further identified the suspect. One photo was posted four hours before the stabbing, and he’s wearing the same shirt.

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded just after midnight Dec. 20 to the 1000 block of S. National Avenue in Bremerton. The victim reported the woman in the car tried to run him over. She turned away at the last minute and hit an oncoming car head-on.

A witness said he saw the two in a verbal argument, then the woman turned around and accelerated at the victim. The victim said he had an ongoing issue with those neighbors parking in front of his house and living in their cars. This car was blocking his driveway.

The suspect was arrested later and said she felt threatened by the victim as he came at her.

Teen arrested for trying

to elude Bremerton police

An 18-year-old Bremerton man was in Kitsap County Superior Court Dec. 18 charged with attempting to elude.

Bail was $50,000. He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Court documents show Bremerton police responded Dec. 17 at 7:30 a.m. to 1st Street and Wycoff. An officer tried to pull a car over that had a headlight out and expired tabs. The car had room to pull over, but did not. After making a few turns the car accelerated and went through a stop sign.

The officer stopped the chase for safety reasons, but as he continued on he saw the car parked at the side of the road unoccupied. Another officer nearby saw two men coming out of a trail near Forest Ridge Park. One was the owner of the vehicle and was detained. The suspect said he did not like how he was stopped because the officer “California Rolled” him, referring to his “rolling stop.”
